Coffee works as a natural exfoliant and is rich in antioxidants, so it helps buff away dullness while giving the skin an invigorated, awake feel. Cocoa adds antioxidant nourishment. Regular gentle exfoliation helps keep pores clearer, reduces the look of rough patches and helps moisturisers and serums absorb better afterwards.

Use it two to three times a week after cleansing. Massage a small amount onto damp skin in gentle circles for one to two minutes, avoiding the eye area, then rinse with lukewarm water. Do not scrub hard — let the granules do the work.

Follow with moisturiser, and wear sunscreen during the day. In dry Canadian winters, once or twice a week is usually enough.

Skip physical scrubs on active, inflamed acne, sunburn, cuts, or freshly shaved or waxed skin, and avoid using them on the same day as strong chemical exfoliants or retinoids. Very sensitive skin should patch test first and use the scrub less often.
